Now accepting applications for the 2011 Youth Summer Conservatory!

The Youth Summer Conservatory (YSC) at The Los Angeles Theatre Center (LATC) has been developed under the leadership of UCLA Professor Jose Luis Valenzuela, to create an opportunity for high school students from underserved communities to experience and train in a conservatory setting. The program is now in its 4th year and has expanded to include dance and music, as well as extending the core program from 4 weeks to 6 weeks and adding pre-conservatory arts-workshops for students. This program integrates acting and dance classes with rigorous physical training in Voice, Speech, Movement, Playwriting, and Improvisation and culminates in a final performance written and performed by YSC students on stage at The LATC. The LATC Youth Summer Conservatory is recommended for teens interested in pursuing an education in the arts. This 6-week intensive program promises to be exciting and fun!
