Literary Intern
Term 1: February – September
Term 2: October – January (for Playwrights Festival specifically)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct preliminary reading of script submissions and provide feedback to Literary Manager
- Conduct grant funding research
- Manage volunteers at special events
- Prepare letters, mailings, etc.
- Input script submissions & playwrights into LATC Playwright Database
- Help organize & create filing system for script submissions
- Assist in procuring donations from local businesses for events: readings, workshops, Annual Playwrights Festival
- Assist Literary Manager as needed
Desired skills and qualities:
- Theater background either as practitioner or student (Theater-related B.A. preferred); must have ability to read plays for not only content but also for potential for production at the LATC.
- Excellent Communication skills (in person, telephone, written)
- Innovative, able to maximize productivity with limited resources
- Professional, punctual, responsible, independent and a team player
- Intermediate-Advanced Microsoft office skills (word, excel, PowerPoint)
- Internet research
